Almost an year post Godrej Consumer‘s takeover of B:Blunt (they had acquired a 30% stake in in Mumbai-based premium hair salon chain B:Blunt in October 2013), they have launched an exclusive range of hair care products under the salon’s brand name.
With the acquisition of 30% stake in B:Blunt , Godrej Consumer now has four hair care brands globally (Darling Group Holdings, Kinky Group and hair colour brand Rapidol – all from Africa), that will power its thrust into the growing its hair care business, currently operating in the hair colour, hair dye, mehendi and hair oil products, chiefly in India. With 17 salons and now a dedicated product range in hair care including shampoos, masques, gels and other styling and grooming products – this also is a significant step moving into the larger hair care space for India’s largest home-grown home and personal care company in India.
It would be interesting to watch the strategical initiatives of Godrej Consumer’s in the hair care space in India, with a combination of a network of salons, and a an exclusive range of hair care products under the salon’s brand name, all backed by the marketing power of the largest personal care company in India.
